5 main classes with at least 3 different higher tier classes at the end of the class branch to choose from. There are PLENTY of classes that all do something unique. For example, the magical princess has a lot of support abilities but also offensive skills too. The different formations for front and back are important too. You have to consider the turnorder, casting times, team attacks and motivation, buffs and debuffs, which enemies to prioritize, who to heal, who to tank, etc. The combat is incredibly smooth and complex too! Even regular fights have some challenge it's not a snore fest as you kill trash mobs. It was like the second half of the Halo CE campaign: let's go through every area again, BUT BACKWARDS! I love the non-rehashed stuff, unlike Operation Abyss where you often go back into the same dungeons more than once. Each dungeon isn't too large until the end game AND they're pretty varied. I never felt like I was seeing too little or too many encounters in dungeons. There's a lot of 1-way and hidden paths but there's hidden treasure and levers/buttons that are reasonably hidden, unlike say Demon Gaze where you headbutt against every wall. The atmosphere is pretty good all around. The music is spot on too! Just listen to the main menu theme! So cool! Very energized or very fitting for the area. If you can get past the fan service you'll see it's amazing. Ooh wonderful discussion topic! It's my favorite DRPG on vita. Much as I enjoyed Demon Gaze (and.tolerated Operation Abyss.for a little while.), skip those and play this. It's head and shoulders above the other DRPGs on Vita.
#Dungeon travelers 2 walkthrough youtube part 1 skin
It comes off less skeevy than some other games which show less skin but treat the subject matter with a more prurient tone. As a result, the ero elements feel playful and funny. The game makes fun of its own sleaze at every turn. I find it refreshing though how self aware the script is about the sexy stuff. So if that's not your bag, you should probably stay away. Sitting on top of all that is heaps and heaps of fan service. Every member of your party is a fully voiced, fully developed character, which is a nice change of pace from more traditional DRPGs where your party members play no part in the story. There's a robust cast too, with loads of personality. You also have the option to reskill and change classes at various level tiers, for free, which gives you loads of opportunities to experiment and correct mistakes with skill progression. Leveling up improves base stats, but also gives points to invest in class skills, and progress toward advanced class changes. Clearing quests gives access to deeper dungeons, unique loot, and expanded bag space. Killing monsters gives you access to equippable accessories-which you can also fuse into gear. There are multiple layers of progression happening all the time too, which is just fantastic. Combat is appropriately punishing-not too much grinding required, but you have to play strategically or you'll get demolished in a handful of turns. Classes feel balanced and each bring something unique to the table. The game mechanics are really well designed. 's running in my lap as I type this.įor DRPG fans who can stomach fan service, this is a fantastic game.
